Paint Colours

Hello Everyone!

Just thought that I would do up a quick post on paint colours.  Picking paint colours is probably (for me at least) the most time consuming part of the whole painting process.  Hundreds upon hundreds of different shades, how's a girl to choose?  Here are a couple of tips I've come up with when trying to pick a colour.

1.  Find your inspiration.  Pull colours from existing elements in the room (accessories, textiles, artwork, etc.).

2.  Don't be afraid to pick a bold colour.  If you have a flare for the dramatic, go with it.  If you love bright and bold colours but worry you'll grow tired of them or its still out of your comfort zone, use the colour on an accent wall, pair it with a muted tone in painted stripes or as a pop of colour with a stencil.

3.  Neutrals are always a safe bet.  Right now, I'm loving greys as a neutral with pops of colour through accessories.

4.  Remember, if you don't like it, you can paint over it.

For those of you interested, the brand of paint I used is the Canadian company, CIL.  The colours I've used are as follows:
